What is the United Reformed Church?

The United Reformed Church (URC) was formed in October 1972 by the union of the Congregational Church in England and Wales and the Presbyterian Church of England.

In 1981 it entered into union with the Reformed Churches of Christ and in 2000 with the Congregational Union of Scotland.

These Churches being 'United' and of the "Reformed" tradition became the United Reformed Church.

Pulborough United Reformed Church was a Congregational Church from 1845 but the denomination's history dates from 1662.
